Pakistan competition
The
final of ACCA Pakistan's third annual finance, accounting and general knowledge
competition took place in July, with the College of Accounting and Management
Sciences of Accounting and Management Sciences (karachi) emerging as the
overall winner.
Fifteen
teams, all from organisations registered with ACCA.s University College
Registration Scheme, participated in the event's preliminary rounds in
Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore, attended by a total of 450 students and
guests. Each winning team received a trophy and a cash prize (with the
prize in Lahore being donated by Education Scenario International and Financial
Training Company). Following the provincial competitions, each winning
team donated half of their cash prize to the Shaukat Khanam emorail Cancer
Hospital and Research center, which also received a further donation from
Bank Alfalah Ltd, the diamond sponsors of the overall competition.
All
the events, including the competition final in Islamabad, attracted substantial
media attention and were covered by ARY Oneworld.
